What is fanfic?
Fanfic is taking the characters and general premise of a show and writing your own story with it.

Why do people take the time to write fanfics?
I can't speak for everyone, so I'll just say that I do it to write things that I haven't seen on the show/movie that I would've liked to see. A lot of times, this applies to 'shippers' (people that wish for two characters of a show to get together in a sexual relationship), who don't always get to see what they want -the two characters together. Some people write fanfic for shows that have been canceled, wanting to show the world their opinions of what could've happened (I've done this myself with Poltergeist: The Legacy). Fanfic is harmless, and it's a fun way of entertainment.

Why make this site?
Well, I absolutely love fanfic, and I think that teenagers don't get enough recognition as writers. And, no, not all of us write BSB fanfics, or Dawson's Creek...Some of us do enjoy watching shows that have a little more intelligence behind them (check out the list of fandoms, not a teen show among them). And again, the desire to write/read things that we normally would never get a chance to is overwhelming to the point where we all just break down and write.

I have one request before you start reading. Many of these writers have to take time out of their busy schedule to write, and have been kind enough to allow me to list them here. Why not drop them a line, telling them how much you loved reading their works. Every time you see an author's name, it's a link to e-mail them, please please do...Unless you're a writer that has received feedback, you have no idea what it means to us when someone sends them a message, telling them what they thought about their story. On the same token, don't flame, or I'll be very angry with you!
